Texas is top dog in U.S. exports for 14th straight year
TEXAS - A recent U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) report ranks Texas as the top exporting state in the nation for the 14th consecutive year.
The Lone Star state had more than $251 billion in goods exported in 2015, accounting for more than 16 percent of U.S. good exported during the year.
Texas also topped California in high-tech exports for the third straight year, exporting $6.3 billion more in high-tech goods than California.
The BEA, reporting export data for the entire United States, said that for 2015, the goods and services deficit for the country was $531.5 billion, up $23.2 billion, or 4.6 percent, from 2014.
Exports were $2.2 trillion, down $112.9 billion, or 4.8 percent.
Imports were $2.8 trillion, down $89.7 billion, or 3.1 percent.
