RICHARDSON – A large new datacenter project will be the latest addition to one of the fastest growth datacenter markets in the country, according to the latest JLL Data Center Outlook report.
Digital Realty Trust Inc. has filed plans with Richardson for a large addition to its Digital Dallas project on Collins Blvd.
The more than 470,000-sf, three-story datacenter would be built on more than 20 acres at the northwest corner of Security Row and International Parkway.
The new building would be constructed next to a smaller datacenter already located on the block.
Digital Realty bought in 2009 controlling interest in the 69-acre former Collins Technology Park. The property consisted of seven original buildings with almost 800,000 sf.
Digital Realty has been converting those buildings into datacenter use while making plans for construction on several vacant sites in the project.
The planned datacenter building would be one of the largest such projects in the Dallas area.
