COLLEGE STATION - Two hotels and a multifamily apartment complex will be the first to sprout from the dirt work for a new mixed-use development along University Dr.

The Century Square development will sit on a 60-acre plot owned by Texas A&M.

It will eventually be home to high-end retail, restaurants, lodging and living geared toward young professionals in Bryan-College Station.

Space for parking is also incorporated into the plan.

The George Hotel and Cavalry Court will be the lodging draws for Century Square. Each hotel will have about 150 rooms, and are expected to open by the fall.

The multifamily apartment complex, 100 Park, will offer 250 units to young professionals and families.

The first phase will take up 30 acres adjacent to University Dr. and the Northpoint Crossing apartment complex.

Texas A&M partnered with development group Midway on the Century Square project.
