​​​AMARILLO - The 2015 Amarillo/Canyon single-family residential market finished the year with its best ever performance based on closed transactions since 1977, according to the latest report by Randy Jeffers with Coldwell Banker Commercial First Equity​, Realtors. ​

There were 3,499 closed sales in 2015 compared with 3,116 closed sales in 2014 — a 12.29 percent increase — the highest annual closed sales ever in the Amarillo/Canyon market.

Average and median single family home prices were up 3.78 percent to $172,784, and 3.87 percent to $147,500, respectively.

In addition, 500 new single-family homes were permitted in 2015, 28 more homes than permitted in 2014.
