El Paso airport passenger traffic dips from Oct. 2015, soars above Nov. 2014
EL PASO – November 2015 passenger traffic at the El Paso
International Airport declined 6.8 percent from October 2015, but increased 6.4
percent compared to November 2014, according to ELP’s latest report.
The airport was used by 228,210 passengers in November.
That’s 16,630 passengers fewer than in October, but 13,810 more passengers than
in November 2014.
From January through November 2015, passenger traffic
declined 0.6 percent compared to the same 11 months a year ago to 1.26 million
passengers.
Southwest Airlines had 52.1 percent of the passenger market
in November; United Airlines had 11.4 percent; American, 29.1 percent; and
Delta, 7.4 percent.
November freight traffic declined 13.5 percent from October,
but increased 1.2 percent compared to November 2014 to 7,137 tons.
Freight traffic is up 5.7 percent for the year
through November to 83,823 tons. FedEx and UPS handled most of the freight
shipments.
