LONGVIEW - Greg Jones and his business partners see the potential to help rebuild an area of Longview with their East Haven Park, which will consist of 11 duplexes and three single-family homes when complete.

Five two-bedroom duplexes already have been built off Nansemond Way, off Marshall Ave. east of Eastman Rd.

Jones has applied for permits from the City of Longview to proceed with construction of six more.

The rental housing development also makes use of three existing single-family homes on the property.

The completed duplexes are 875 sf on each side with two bedrooms and one bath, and already are rented.

The planned new units will be 1,200 sf on each side. They'll be two stories with three bedrooms and two baths.

Rent for units in the first phase of the duplex project is $900 a month. The new larger units will have starting rents at $1,100 per month.

Jones said his partnerships' interest in the area is complemented by Longview ISD's plan to build a new kindergarten there.
