​​SAN ANTONIO – ​​According to the November 2015 employment report by Associated General Contractors of America, the Alamo City ranked 38th out of 358 cities in construction job growth as a result of adding 4,800 construction jobs over the past year. 

San Antonio's construction sector went from 46,900 employees as of November 2014 to 51,700 jobs a year later, equating to a year-over-year increase of 10 percent.

Here's how other Texas metros fared between November 2014 and November 2015:

  • ​Austin-Round Rock added 2,600 jobs, an increase of 5 percent, ranking at 92;
  • Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land added 4,000 jobs, an increase of 2 percent, ranking at 150;
  • Dallas-Plano-Irving added 2,600 jobs, an increase of 2 percent, ranking at 150; and
  • For​t Worth-Arlington lost 5,400 jobs, a decrease of 7 percent, ranking at 322.
