SAN ANTONIO – Fort Worth-based General Motors Financial Company Inc. is building a 100,000-sf customer service center that will house about 700 employees.

The facility will be built on 13.8 acres off of Raymond E. Stotzer Jr. Fwy. at the intersection of Westover Link and North Ellison Dr. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2016, and the company plans to occupy the building in first quarter 2017.

The site will open under the AmeriCredit name, the name of the company before GM purchased it in 2010 to act as its captive market financing arm.

The location was selected based on several factors, including a strong work force, ideal time zone and incentives offered by the city, country and state, including a $2.5 million incentive from the Texas Enterprise Fund.

GM Financial requested a $339,594 tax abatement from the city for the project. The total project capital investment is around $24.5 million.
