The next phase will feature a second patient tower that will house 420 beds and a medical office building. These are expected to break ground in January and the fall, respectively. Both projects are slated for completion in 2019.

When completed, the project will total $1.1 billion and comprise over 1.2 million sf. The hospital will have 650 beds altogether as well as ambulatory services, operating rooms, laboratories and office space for clinicians. HKS is the architect of record for the second tower.

The Texas Heart Institute will relocate its operations to the McNair Campus, which is also expected to include facilities for basic science and translational research.

The Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center McNair campus is a result of a joint venture between the two institutions following the $2 billion acquisition of St. Luke's Health from the Episcopal Diocese of Texas by Colorado-based Catholic Health Initiatives.
