TEXAS - Texas added more jobs in November for the second straight month, including gains in the beleaguered energy and manufacturing industries for the first time since March, according to a forecast by payroll processor ADP.

It estimates that Texas added 24,100 private-sector jobs, up from a projected 17,200 private-sector jobs in October and 14,300 jobs in September.

Last month, energy, mining and construction, and manufacturing each added an estimated 300 jobs, ADP said.

Energy and manufacturing employment has been hard hit in Texas, the nation’s No. 1 oil-producing state, due to low oil prices.

ADP and Moody’s Analytics Inc. data say all of the 29 states plus Washington, D.C., saw private job growth in November.

Texas once again ranked second to California’s estimated 26,700 new jobs in November.
