​HOUSTON – ​​​The 22-story BBVA Compass Plaza sold for over $​​527 psf, setting a record high selling price for the city's offices. 

This topped the previous per sf record of $524 psf from the $442.5 million sale of the Hess Tower.

The 326,200-sf BBVA building, located at 2200 Post Oak Blvd. in Uptown, was purchased by Spain-based Masaveu Post Oak Houston Delaware. The seller, represented by HFF, was a partnership of Stream Realty, TRC Capital Partners and an institutional client of L&B Realty Advisors.​

The BBVA building, which opened in 2013, is 83 percent leased with BBVA bank occupying 185,000 sf of the tower. Caracol, a Mexican seafood restaurant by world-class chef Hugo Ortega, is on the ground floor.

This sale also tops the $435 million purchase by Union Investment of the 1000 Main building.
