GALVESTON – Texas A&M University at Galveston will break
ground on a new $46 million academic building on campus.

The four-story, 86,000-sf academic building will serve
Galveston the same way Rudder Tower serves the flagship campus in College
Station.

The groundbreaking will kick off the first phase of the
three-phase construction project that is expected to be completed in summer
2017.

The first phase of the project will include a new visitor
center, classrooms, laboratories, academic services and administrative offices.

Phase two will add lecture rooms and support
services, and the final phase will wrap up the project with a new library.
