WACO – Waco resident David Mosley hand-built his own three-bedroom, two-bath castle next to the Brazos River after his father promised to provide him supplies.

The decades-long project is now up for rent.

Sitting near the Brazos River, a decades-long project by David Mosley, 64, is now available for rent.
The eccentric three-story home on J.J. Flewellen Rd. that Mosley built in and around a former water tower comes complete with Gothic arches, wooden Celtic floor designs and a custom-built “heatalator” in the fireplace.

The 1,816-sf, live-in water tower is listed at $1,200 per month, which includes a library on the second floor.
One of the multiple outside decks has a trap door and a pulley system to lift any appliances to the kitchen on the third floor.
The house is listed with The Cromwell Co., a real estate and management firm.
Mosley began construction on the water tower in 1970 when he was 19.
