​ABILENE - Abilene Christian University's proposed The Village at Allen Ridge project continues to move forward, although new developments are currently sparse, Kelly Young, vice president for real estate development for ACU's endowment management subsidiary, ACIMCO. 

n May, ACU announced that ACIMCO, had joined forces with BVTD Partners LLC of Dallas to complete a final feasibility assessment for a 95-acre, master-planned "mixed-use lifestyle center" potentially located at the intersections of Ambler Ave., I-20 and Judge Ely Blvd.

The Village could one day sport shopping and leisure venues, a hotel and a residential village boasting a movie theater, 40-acre park with trails and waterfront outdoor dining on a small lake on land owned by ACU adjacent to its main campus,

​"We are in the preleasing stage and it will take months due to the nature and interconnectedness of the tenants," Young, noting that work on "engineering, zoning, and tax due diligence" continues to "make sure we have all of the technical pieces ready."​​​
