SAN ANTONIO – New York-based Kalikow Group has ended its local investment with the sale of a commercially zoned site in the Luckey Ranch development.

The 70-acre property at Loop 1604 with frontage along SH 90 has been sold to a Texas-based company.

The land is the final component for the 610-acre Luckey Ranch project. After acquiring the site in 2007, Kalikow developed Luckey Ranch through a joint venture known as KEP Luckey Ranch Global Associates. It has sold all of the available residential land over the past three years, mostly to Houston-based LGI homes.

Known as the Donut Hole, the development has room for 2,400 homes across 540 residentially zoned acres. While originally purchased to capitalize on growing demand for affordable, single-family housing, the community's proximity to upscale housing developments, coupled with the strengthening residential market in general, has pushed average home prices up to $155,000 to $260,000.
