WACO - A Dallas-based investment group purchased the building that used to house GymX and Best Buy with plans to move in an Urban Air Trampoline Park.

The 28,875-sf building is located at 5701 W. Waco Dr., next to Richland Mall.

The group hopes to open the park by the Christmas holidays, when school-age youngsters would have plenty of time to enjoy it, said Richard Davis, a partner in the venture.

Along with the trampolines, attractions will include a playground, ninja course, foam pit and various obstacle courses with timing devices.

A food court will serve pizza, chicken fingers, popcorn and drinks, and the public can book 11 party tables and four party rooms for birthdays and other special events.

Davis said he thinks the building will serve as an ideal site for a trampoline-based fun house because of its size, towering ceilings and proximity to Richland Mall.

Davis said the partnership chose Waco not only because of the group's ties to the area, but also because of the city's vitality and economic growth.
