EL PASO – October 2015 passenger traffic at El Paso
International Airport increased almost 10 percent from September 2015, and
almost 5 percent compared to October 2014, according to ELP’s latest report.

But the October increase did not stop passenger traffic from
declining 1.2 percent for the first ten months of the year compared to the same
period a year ago.

The airport handled 2.29 million passengers from January
through October 2015 — 27,920 fewer passengers than used the airport for the
same ten months in 2014.

In October, the airport handled 244,840 passengers — 22,089
more passengers than in September, and 11,560 more passengers than used the
airport in October 2014.

Freight traffic continued to grow at the airport. In
October, freight traffic increased 3.8 percent from September and increased 4.2
percent from October 2014 to 8,250 tons.

For the year through October, freight traffic
increased 6.1 percent compared to the same ten-month period in 2014 to 76,687
tons.
