ALLEN – Intelligent Epitaxy Technology Inc. — a manufacturer of semiconducting epi wafers for electronics — plans to relocate and consolidate its North Texas corporate operations into two facilities totaling 100,000 sf.

In all, the firm is investing $20 million in relocating and consolidating more than 50 employees from its headquarters and other offices in Dallas-Fort Worth.

As part of the relocation deal, IntelliEPI plans to build a manufacturing and office complex near Ridgemont Dr. and Greenville Ave. in Allen, where the company acquired a 7.5-acre tract.

The initial phase of the development — a one-story, 60,000-sf building — is expected to start in second quarter 2016. The new development expands IntelliEPI’s footprint in Allen, where the tech firm has a 10,000-sf office.

The consolidation of the company’s North Texas operations is expected to take a number of years, President and CEO Yung-Chung Kao said.

Construction on the initial building is slated for 2017.
