San Antonio: 100,000 SF stacks up at Methodist Stone Oak hospital
SAN ANTONIO – Methodist Healthcare System plans to invest
more than $60 million to expand its hospital in Stone Oak.
Methodist’s Stone Oak expansion will include a three-story
structure housing more than 100,000 additional sf constructed above an existing
single-story building. Roughly 20,000 sf in the existing floor will be
renovated as part of the expansion project.
The expansion will give Methodist Stone Oak more than 70
additional beds, including three dozen surgical step-down beds.
Methodist Stone Oak will also gain more space for women’s
services and for its neonatal intensive care unit. The project will also add a
15-bed acute rehabilitation facility.
Construction on the expansion project, which
will include a three-level parking garage, is expected to begin in first
quarter 2016 and will take about 18 months to complete.
