Cabela’s Outfitters target Fort Hood
FORT HOOD - Cabela’s, a retail store specializing in hunting, fishing and camping equipment, has opened a seasonal location at Fort Hood.
The store is inside Fort Hood’s old Clear Creek Exchange building, 5004 Clear Creek Rd., making it the retailer’s first site in Killeen and the first of three on military installations," according to a news release from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, which oversees the retail stores and restaurants on post.
"We know we have a lot of loyal customers in all of our armed services," including at Fort Hood, said Cabela’s spokesman Nathan Borowski.
"This is the first time we have done a seasonal store of any kind."
AAFES officials said they are excited about the temporary store.
Officials said the Fort Hood Cabela’s store will carry a variety of seasonal soft goods, shoes, hunting gear, outdoors equipment and gifts.
Fort Hood’s main post exchange store used to be inside the Clear Creek Exchange, but was moved last month when the Clear Creek Shopping Center opened across the street.
