GARLAND – Builder Holigan Investments is working on a $300 million development located at the north corner of Arapaho Rd. and N. Garland Ave.

Dubbed the Woodlands on Spring Creek, the project will have a variety of homes, apartments and even a small restaurant building. It will be a short commute from new Telecom Corridor employment centers, which are adding over 10,000 workers at companies like State Farm Insurance, Raytheon and RealPage Inc.

The majority of the development will be used for 382 single-family homes priced from $300,000 to over $400,000. The homes will be surrounded on two sides by green areas with walking trails that connect to the nearby Spring Creek Forest Park Preserve.

A small pond on the Garland Ave. side will be near a 150-unit seniors housing community. Carrollton-based Cross Development and Titus Capital will build the seniors project.

Additionally, a small retail building is planned on Garland Ave.

The city's planning commission will take up consideration of the project next week.
