Top office address in Texas? Austin’s Congress Avenue

​​​​AUSTIN - Congress Avenue is the most expensive street to do business on in Texas and one of the most expensive in the U.S.​

That‘s the consensus of the 2015 Most Expensive Streets Report, which is compiled every two years by brokerage firm JLL.

Based on JLL data, tenants along Congress Ave. pay about 48 percent more to be located on the iconic thoroughfare than if they chose a less prominent location.

Office prices along Congress Ave. in downtown Austin are the 11th highest in the U.S. with an average $48.11 per sf for full service rents, compared to $42.04 two years ago.

However, this falls well behind the $141.60 and $12​4.44 per sf rates of Silicon Valley’s Sand Hill Rd. and Hamilton Ave., the two most expensive streets on JLL’s list.

Other Texas streets making the top 20 include McKinney Ave. in Dallas ​and Louisiana St. in Houston.
