McCord developing hotel, apartments in Generation Park
HOUSTON – McCord Development will build a hotel, apartment complex and office/retail building in Generation Park.
The local developer is planning the first phase of Redemption Square, an urban mixed-use district within the 4,000-acre park, located off Beltway 8.
McCord is under contract for a 147-room Courtyard Marriott hotel and a 243-unit urban apartment project, the developer of which is yet to be announced.
Preleasing has begun for a five-story spec building with 85,000 sf of Class-A office space and 15,000 sf of ground-level retail space. A 1,000-space parking garage is also planned.
Redemption Square will ultimately have 1.5 million sf of Class-A office space, 800 residential units, 650 hotel rooms, 275,000 sf of retail space and 21 acres of parks. Future phases will have an extended-stay hotel, fitness centers and a 4,000-seat auditorium.
