$1B mixed-use development Mercer ‘Crossing’ to Farmers Branch
FARMERS BRANCH – One of North Texas’ biggest land developers has purchased property north of LBJ Fwy. for a $1 billion mixed-use development.
Centurion American Development Group acquired 370 acres out of Mercer Crossing community in Farmers Branch for $85 million.
The vacant tract – which surrounds a small lake – will be used for construction of a single-family home community, apartments, retail and commercial space.
Plans for the development include two hotels, 3,500 apartments, retail shopping, more than 800 single-family home sites for townhomes and residential villas, 180,000 sf of commercial space and a 48-acre office campus.
Centurion is planning to build a boardwalk-like restaurant row along the lakefront in the development.
Other amenities include a 5,000-seat outdoor amphitheater and residential amenity center with plans for a kid splash park and pool for residents.
Construction is slated to begin in March on the initial phases of Mercer Crossing development.
