​​RICHMOND – ​​​​​Johnson Development Corp. has acquired 590 acres southwest of Houston for a master-planned community with 2,500 homes.

The site is near the northwest corner of Williams Way Blvd. and US 59, near the Sweetgrass active-adult community being developed by Del Webb.

Johnson and IHP Capital Partners purchased the property from the Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation of Richardson. Trustmark Bank is providing financing for the transaction.

Development activity should begin by mid-2016 with construction of new homes projected for early ​​2017.
