SAN ANGELO – A plot of land recently sold by San Angelo ISD is in the process of being rezoned for commercial development.

SAISD officials sold about 1.761 acres of real estate at the corner of Knickerbocker Rd. and Jackson St. to Fort Worth firm Beck Interest Inc. — the only bidders for the property — for about $1 million last week.

The new owner intends to cultivate the land into a commercial development, and the first steps were taken as the San Angelo’s City Council unanimously approved a zone change from office commercial to general commercial.

A second hearing is required before the transition is official. Stay tuned!
