WESTLAKE – More than 20 years after buying the Circle T Ranch, Hillwood Properties wants to turn 128 acres at the entrance of the northeast Tarrant County property into a mixed-use development with offices, apartments and retail space.

The development plan just presented to Westlake’s planning and zoning commission calls for a development similar to the Legacy West project in Plano or the new CityLine development in Richardson.

Hillwood is asking for approvals to build a corporate office campus with more than 1 million sf in several buildings, 750 apartments, a 200-room hotel and 80,000 sf of retail and entertainment space. The first phase would include a 286,000-sf office project, the hotel and retail space plus 250 residential units.

The company hopes to partner with Howard Hughes Corp. on the project. Gensler has provided development designs. Corgan Associates is also involved.
