COLLEGE STATION – After finishing 2015 strong, the Texas housing market will likely slow down next year, says Real Estate Center Chief Economist Dr. Jim Gaines on this week’s Real Estate Red Zone podcast.

However, sellers and buyers shouldn’t worry too much.

"If you have a property you’re going to try to sell, you are likely to be able to sell it fairly easily and for a good price — at least for the first half of the year," Gaines said.

He said the only reason next year might not be a good year for buyers is the low inventory, which means fewer choices.

To hear more of Gaines’ 2016 housing market outlook, including his multifamily projections, tune into this week’s Red Zone podcast.
