Texas homes average 306 days in foreclosure
COLLEGE STATION – The average number of days Texas homes spent in foreclosure in the third quarter was 306, well below the national average of 630 days, according to new RealtyTrac data.
Texas’ average was up 21 percent from the second quarter and 36 percent from the same period last year.
The state had 6,829 foreclosures in the third quarter, up 11 percent from the previous quarter but up 179 percent from a year ago. Nationally, foreclosures were up 66 percent year over year.
Houston had 1,486 foreclosures in the third quarter and Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington had 2,609. Meanwhile, Amarillo had 90, Corpus Christi 96, El Paso 198, Laredo 27, Tyler 51, Lubbock 77, Beaumont-Port Arthur 167, McAllen-Edinburg-Mission 135, Brownsville-Harlingen 60, Longview 43, Austin-Round Rock 354, Killeen-Temple 240, San Antonio-New Braunfels 773 and College Station-Bryan 9.
