HOUSTON - The Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) broke ground on its new $450 million campus.
Phase one includes the new Glassell School of Art, an 80,000-sf building with space for both junior and adult schools, and a roof garden with a view of the entire campus.
The initial phase also includes construction of the Brown Foundation Plaza.
Nearly $364 million has been raised for the project, including $70 million from wealth manager Fayez Sarofim and $50 million from the Kinder Foundation.
The campus is expected to be complete in 2019.
