SAN ANTONIO – Fast growth and strong employment hubs have
long been at the top of Vantage Communities’ development checklist, and that is
exactly what it will have at the site of its next development at Brooks City Base.

The 288-unit development has just broken ground at 7938 City
Base Landing on the eastern edge of the base along Goliad Rd.

Big Red Dog San Antonio President Chris Weigand said the
apartments should start preleasing by August 2016, and that the rents will be
market-rate once they come online. That number is currently about $1 to $1.10
per sf.

As the former base continues to fill in with office, retail
and industrial development, residential activity has been picking up speed.

NRP is already starting work on its next apartment complex
after the firm’s initial success with the 300-unit Landings at Brooks City Base

The developer is planning a 304-unit apartment complex at 7144 Dave Erwin
Dr. in a private-public partnership with the Brooks Development Authority.

Wrapping up the final stages of construction,
210DG’s The Aviator will add 280 residential units, one-third of which will be
converted military barracks.
