EDINBURG – A groundbreaking of a Marriott TownePlace Suites is planned for one of Marriott’s newest models, a prototype dubbed Generation 4.0.

Generation 4.0 is geared toward next-generation travelers with hotels featuring a more linear exterior look, a larger lobby, as well as newly designed bedrooms and kitchens.

Qube Hotels will build the four-story, 95-room all suites hotel at the corner of Professional Dr. and Trenton Rd. — one of the busiest corridors in Edinburg, seeing more than 99,000 vehicles per day.

Qube Hotels is investing $10 million to build the hotel guaranteeing to create a minimum of 20-30 permanent full-time jobs. This project is expected to have a significant economic impact on the city.

Marriott TownePlace Suites will be near the bustling Shops at Rio Grande, which will soon see the opening of an Ulta Store — the first in Edinburg — and near the Bert Ogden Arena which is currently under construction.

The groundbreaking, planned for late October, is on track to make this location the very first of its kind in America.
