DALLAS – According to the just-released Standard & Poor's Case-Shiller Home Price Index, area home appreciation is one of the highest in the nation.
Dallas home prices were up 8.9 percent from a year ago. The year-over-year increase in August was the area's highest in almost six months.
Nationally, prices were up 4.7 percent from August 2014 levels. The largest annual increases were in San Francisco (10.7 percent), Denver (10.7 percent) and Portland (9.4 percent).
