HOUSTON – The Houston office market recorded a negative net absorption of 375,001 sf in the third quarter, totaling 528,194 sf of negative net absorption year-to-date.

Tenants have vacated over 1.4 million sf of sublease space this year, with the majority occurring in the energy-centric Katy Fwy. West submarket where over 1 million sf of sublease space has been vacated.

Direct absorption remains in positive territory at 915,714 sf YTD due to large occupancies from leases signed in 2014.
