American Airlines going for great with 300-acre campus
FORT WORTH – American Airlines has announced plans for a new corporate campus and headquarters just west of its current location near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
The company will demolish the old Sabre Holdings headquarters and lease 97 acres next to 200 acres it already leases. Groundbreaking is slated for next spring, and the property is expected to be ready by late summer or early fall 2018.
The campus will employ 5,000, including the senior management team. It will also be used as a meeting place for all 100,000 workers.
American Airlines’ board approved the plan to build near its current location. However, the company must get approval from DFW International Airport, which owns the land.
