HOUSTON – Feng shui is paying off for Houston-based Whitestone REIT at its Lion Square shopping center redevelopment in southwest Houston’s Asian district.

Sam’s Spa Nail Supply has signed a new 12,260-sf lease that boosts occupancy at Lion Square to 94 percent.

The 117,600-sf shopping center is at the northeast corner of Bellaire Blvd. and Wilcrest Dr.

Whitestone redeveloped Lion Square using the principles of feng shui to promote the “flow of energy” and attract business to the center, the company said. A former 42,200-sf grocery store was reconfigured as part of the remodel.

Lion Square is in a region with 250,000 daytime employees that caters to Houston’s Asian population of over 400,000 people.
Sam’s Spa Nail Supply joins Family Dollar, Teletron, Crown Seafood and Ten Yen Tea and Herbs in the center.
