COLLEGE STATION – About 150 firefighters from 22 counties across the state have organized to assist with fighting fire and protecting homes in Bastrop County from the Hidden Pines Fire that ignited last week.
In the last seven days, Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) resources have responded to 117 wildfires for 9,013 acres.
Thirty TIFMAS fire engines, three water tenders and a saw crew arrived in the county this week.
