HOUSTON - Memorial Hermann has announced its rebranding of the 50-year-old Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital just inside the North Loop at Ella Blvd., to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights.

Other changes to the 260-bed hospital will include renovation of the north tower, the oldest part of the facility, and relocation of the hospital's front door, which now faces Loop 610, to face south towards the community.

Memorial Hermann's announcement also includes plans to add two new facilities just south of the Heights. One will be a "convenient care center" in an upscale residential and retail development called Studemont Junction and the other an urgent care facility.

Located halfway between Memorial Hermann's Texas Medical Center and Greater Heights, the 44,000-sf care center, which will offer a 24-hour emergency room and extensive imaging and lab services, is expected to open in summer 2017.

In early 2016, the hospital system will also open an urgent care facility along Washington Ave. at Fowler, west of downtown. The 2,500-sf facility will offer walk-in care for those with non-life-threatening health conditions.
