SAN ANTONIO – Local apparel retailer A’GACI is making big
plans for the year ahead, starting with a new 283,818-sf warehouse and
distribution center in Southwest San Antonio.

The nearly $10 million facility is just the beginning for
the San Antonio-based company — which has been in business for more than 40
years — and will lay the foundation for its expansion not just in the city, but
across the country.

"The new warehouse in the southwest quadrant of the
I-35 and Loop 410 intersection will be a long-term investment for the company
in its plans to add to its current 59 store locations," A’GACI Chief
Financial Officer Reid Hackney said.

Over the next 12 months, the retailer is planning roughly 20
new stores, maintaining its focus on cities in California, Texas and New York.

Before moving into its new digs at 10939 Fischer Rd., the retailer
has been squeezed into a 78,000-sf fulfillment center on Grandstand Dr.

About 175 employees work in the current facility, a number
that will likely double over the next five years.

“San Antonio is our corporate home,” Hackney
said. “We like San Antonio. It’s our customer, and our stores do really, really
well here.”
