EL PASO - CarMax Inc., a Fortune 500 company considered the country’s largest retailer of used vehicles, is opening one of its auto superstores in El Paso.

CarMax has purchased nearly 12 acres on the Eastside where it has started construction on its new 30,000-sf facility.

CarMax expects its El Paso store, at 1300 Pendale on Interstate 10, to stock between 200 and 400 used vehicles.

It is one of the company’s “production stores,” so it will have the capability to recondition vehicles.

“CarMax typically invests between $10 million and $25 million on each store location,” said Lindsey Duke spokesperson for CarMax.

It expects to hire between 50 and 100 employees.

The store is scheduled to open in June 2016.

Here’s a free tip from CarMax’s Glove Box

Keep cup holders spotless by lining them with a silicone cupcake holder to catch all the grime.
