RICHARDSON – El Paso-based apartment developer Hunt Cos. has broken ground on the first phase of a large rental community.

The 250,000-sf project — scheduled for completion in the summer of 2016 — will include 280 market-rate apartments in a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and lofts.

The almost five-acre apartment development is underway on the east side of North Central Expressway at Greenville Ave. and Alma Rd.

The development is part of the mixed-use Eastside redevelopment.
