DALLAS – Engineering firm JQ is in the midst of transitioning its headquarters from Austin to Dallas, and recently bought a Design District building to house its new corporate offices and accommodate its growth.

The new 31,000-sf building at 100 Glass St. near Levee St. in Dallas more than doubles the structural and civil engineering firm’s Dallas footprint.

"We started in Austin, but with the growth of the Dallas office, we are shifting our headquarters up to Dallas and Dallas-Fort Worth," Managing Partner Stephen Lucy said.

That growth has brought JQ’s employee base to the Dallas office to 75, with another 20 employees in Fort Worth. In Austin, JQ has about 15 employees.

By the end of the year, JQ plans to bring nearly 100 employees into the new building, which is currently being renovated.

Plans for the renovations include adding larger conference rooms, cafe rooms, a fitness room and rooftop deck.
