Downtown Plano deemed one of America’s ‘Great Places’
PLANO – Downtown Plano has been named one of four Great Neighborhoods on the American Planning Association’s (APA) list of Great Places in America.
APA’s Great Places in America program, which is part of National Community Planning Month, recognizes streets, neighborhoods and public spaces in the country that demonstrate exceptional character, quality and planning.
The APA cited the city’s tremendous growth with the arrival of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit service and a strategic transit village plan.
Other neighborhoods recognized by the APA include the Crossroads Arts District in Kansas City, Missouri; Wynwood Arts District in Miami; and Roosevelt Row Arts District in Phoenix.
