LONGVIEW – The Gregg County AgriLife Extension office will host “Whose Water Is It?” Oct. 15 at the AgriLife Extension auditorium, 405 East Marshall Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
“In the past, minerals played a key role in real estate transactions,” said Extension Service Agent Randy Reeves. “Now, the question is where does water fit into the scheme of property rights? Do landowners own or have the right to use the water located on and under their property?”
Guest speaker Judon Fambrough, attorney with the Real Estate Center, will address those questions.
For more information, contact Reeves at 903-236-8429 or [email protected]. You’ll also find more information online at http://gregg.agrilife.org/files/2015/08/water.pdf.
Also, be sure to read Fambrough’s article, "Whose Water Is It Anyway?" You can download it free from the Center’s website.
