COLLEGE STATION - Methodist Retirement Communities announced plans for the development of a new independent, assisted-living and memory care community.

The not-for-profit organization anticipates a mid- to late-September closing on the purchase of 12 acres of land located off Texas Highway 6 Frontage Road near the Christ United Methodist Church.

Plans for the yet-to-be-named community initially include 72 independent living condo-style flats, 24 assisted-living apartments and 18 memory support suites, with room for future expansion.
Each of the community’s three five-story buildings will house six flats per floor with a common living room and kitchenette on each floor as well.
