AUSTIN – The transformation of 12 acres of South Austin into a trendy mixed-use project dubbed "Saint Elmo" is gaining traction with Prescott Group in Dallas joining master developer GroundFloor Development to create a public market, entertainment venue, creative offices, condominiums and a boutique hotel.

The public market at Saint Elmo — which will break ground in mid-2016 and deliver in early 2018 — will be the centerpiece of the $125 million mixed-use project in a largely commercial area of South Austin.

Saxon Pub — which will create an entertainment venue capable of seating between 300 and 400 guests — is scheduled to be the first element to open in 2017, about a year in advance of the rest of the project.

Saxon Pub will be located on a pad at the entrance on South Congress Ave. along with a boutique hotel, said Brandon Bolin, president and CEO of GroundFloor Development.

Creative office space will occupy about 225,000 sf in two buildings in new ground-up construction.

In addition, the project is slated to have about 50 residential condominiums.
