ABILENE - Prairie Dog Pet Products will invest $30 million to build a manufacturing center that will incorporate headquarter activities like corporate finance, customer support, and sales.
The pet food manufacturing company will bring approximately 215 jobs to the Key City, according to a press release issued by the Development Corporation of Abilene (DCOA).
The DCOA is investing $9 million in the company. $5 million of the allotted funds have gone to secure the company a speculation three building at the Five Points Business Park, and the other $4 million will be used to upgrade the building to better equip the pet food company.
The funds for DCOA projects like this one come from a half-cent sales tax.
