​​FORT WORTH - American Airlines officially opened its new Robert W. Baker Integrated Operations Center in Fort Worth. The two-story, $88 million building is next to the carrier’s flight academy and the C.R. Smith Museum.

The 150,000-sf facility houses 1,600 employees who oversee the flight operations for the entire airline.

The building is the nerve center for the combined American Airlines and US Airways, which merged two years ago.
