HOUSTON – The 100-Acre Wood Preserve, located in northwest Harris County about 15 miles southwest of Spring, has expanded its boundaries and will have new hike-and-bike trails.

In June, 2.73 acres were added to the preserve as part of an agreement between the Bayou Land Conservancy and the county. Before the addition, the preserve was a little over 98 acres.

Also, construction will soon begin on a new 4,200-linear-foot asphalt trail. Construction on the $595,000 trail is set to begin Monday.

The project is slated for completion in late spring 2016 and is expected to bring in many more cyclists and hikers from both Harris and Montgomery Counties.
