SAN ANTONIO - Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas is shifting to a six-day production schedule at the company’s truck assembly plant and hiring an additional 200 workers.

The automotive company will start a Saturday shift beginning second quarter 2016. Workers will get paid $14 an hour and up.

The local Toyota plant manufactures Tundra and Tacoma pickup trucks. In August, Toyota sold 16,230 Tacomas, up from 14,338 during the same period a year ago.
